OBSERVATION – GRAND CRU – BRUT $83.00
This is where it all begins. Their entry-level wine with 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay and 2 years of reserve wines.
A golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse but not overtly aggressive.
The nose clean, subtle, fruit-driven, expressing the fresh Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The palate entry is lively from the mousse, leading into a textured mouthfeel.
GENÈSE – GRAND CRU – EXTRA-BRUT $87.00
A step up. 100% Pinot Noir with 2 years of reserve wines.
The rich golden hue over a fine mousse.
The intensity of the nose coming from the Pinot Noir, adding mystery, intrigue and perfume.
A soft, textured entry, fine, mouth-filling, with a lingering finish.
GENÈSE ROSÉ – GRAND CRU – EXTRA-BRUT $89.00
100% Pinot Noir blended rosé. 10–15% Coteaux Champenois rouge.
Beautiful celebratory rosé colour hinting at what is to come. Lovely mousse.
Strawberries, subtle blueberries and raspberries. Clean, mysterious fruit nose with stunning complexity.
This is not just some easy sunny afternoon drink. This is a serious wine. Texture, mouthfeel and length. With every taste there is a new revelation.
MÉMOIRE – GRAND CRU – VIEILLES VIGNES – VINTAGE 2019 $160.00
To do tasting notes for this wine is an impossible task. This wine is something very special. Instead, I will quote from Richard Juhlin.
“In pure form, there are no better wines than Michel Arnould Mémoire de Vignes and Bollinger P.N. V.Z. The former is a super elegant blanc de noirs with fresh apple notes and blood orange, as well as a breathtakingly pure mineral tone.”
He goes on to say, “Mémoire de Vignes is always a fantastic Champagne worth knocking yourself out to get hold of. At least once in your life you should try drinking this treasure.
